Report

Spurs Ladies fought back with ten players to earn a more than well-deserved point.

Going behind in the first minute made it an uphill task and regular offside flags punctuated many Tottenham attacks. However, a good move between Clare Singh and Kat Clifton on the wing produced an inviting cross for Rosi Webb to score the equaliser.

However, before the break, a goalmouth scramble saw the loose ball rammed back past the Spurs defence to give the home side the lead once more.

After the break, Spurs players felt they took some harsh treatment, while Mel Berry earned a second yellow card and an exit from the action. The team drew together and despite the odds being against them and playing uphill, substitute Samrawit Bereket (pictured right) took the ball past two defenders and the keeper and slid it home to make the final score 2-2 and move the team into third place in the table.

Squad: Laura May, Dom Clarke, Athena Yennaris, Kelly Herrett, Jenny Curtis, Kat Clifton, Gill Blackmore, Mel Berry, Faye Callaway (Samrawit Bereket), Claire Singh, Rosi Webb. Unused sub: Kerry Daniells.
