Report

The promising start to the season from Spurs Ladies continued with a good League win over Littlehampton at Fred Knights.

Pressure from the start built on the visitors defence and Kelly Herrett’s long pass picked out Rosi Webb to lob the ball over the keeper to give Spurs the advantage. They doubled the lead when Samarawit Bereket buried a fine shot past the goalie from a tight angle, but Littlehampton narrowed the deficit with a goal from a corner before the break.

The second half saw Spurs put the game beyond Littlehampton’s reach with a fine solo goal from Kat Clifton, who beat three players and placed her shot into the top corner of the net, before Webb shot home from a narrow angle to wrap up a second successive league victory for the Ladies.

Squad: Lisa McCabe, Dom Clarke, Jenny Curtis, Kelly Herrett, Mel Berry, Kat Clifton, Gill Blackmore, Samrawit Bereket, Faye Callaway (Claire Singh), Rosi Webb, Jessie Richards (Vicci Pritchard) Unused subs: Laura May, Kerry Daniells, Athena Yennaris.
