Spurs Ladies are back on top of the South-East Combination.
The team leapfrogged Norwich City after beating the Canaries 3-0 in a huge top-of-the-table clash at Broxbourne Borough FC on Sunday.
They are now two points clear of the Canaries, three clear of Enfield and four clear of Lewes with two games in hand on all of these rivals. MK Dons complete the title-chasing picture in fifth, six points adrift having played a game more.
Without a game for the best part of a month, the ladies' return match pitted them against a high-flying Canaries side who had taken over top spot during that inactive period.
Spurs started brighter and created a number of chances before Bianca Baptiste (pictured above) opened the scoring. Sam Pittuck released Baptiste who made no mistake one-on-one.
There was a scare towards the end of the half following a mix-up between Derrie O'Halloran and Ebony Heath, but Robin Downie stood firm and O'Hallaran got back to avert the danger.
Spurs were back on the front foot at the start of the second half with Pittuck and Nicola Cable dominating the central midfield areas.
Downie was forced off with a thigh problem five minutes into the half but her replacement Rosie Webb took just five minutes to make her mark, strolling through before slotting the ball past the goalkeeper to double the lead.
Ryah Vyse was unfortunately sent off midway through the half but the defence stood firm as the Canaries tried to get back into the game.
With two minutes remaining, Emma Kayser (pictured below) curled home a free-kick from the edge of the area to make it 3-0 and complete a fine victory.
The ladies manager, Karen Hills, was delighted. "I'm very proud of all the players as there was so much riding on the result," she said.
"The players prepared well and were all up for the game. That showed throughout. The work-rate was excellent and the movement in midfield was difficult for Norwich to deal with.
"There is still a long way to go, so the girls have to remain focused and continue to work hard."
If all goes to plan, the ladies will be promoted to the second tier of the women's game, the FA Women's Premier League, Southern Division.
They also have two semi-finals on the way including a high-profile London Cup semi-final against well-established FA Women's Premier League side Millwall Lionesses on Sunday.
