Karen Hills is looking for a change in fortunes as Spurs Ladies return to FA Women's Premier League action this weekend.
They travel to Reading in the Southern Division determined to secure a first win of the campaign.
Performances have certainly warranted that victory, but it has remained elusive so far.
That was the case again in the Premier League Cup on Sunday, as the ladies suffered a 2-1 defeat against Premier League National Division side Barnet in Group Five.
"We need to pick up points at Reading," said manager Karen. "We'll continue to work hard in training and believe this weeklend could be the turning point for us."
Barnet goalkeeper Cherie Rowlands kept Spurs Ladies at bay until two quickfire goals put the Bees in control in the second half.
Wendy Martin and Bianca Baptiste were both denied by Rowlands in the first half but Barnet started to take control after the break. Cheryl Williams provided crosses for Vicky Boardman and Jenny Kikomeko to put them 2-0 up.
Derrie O'Halloran pulled a goal back with five minutes remaining and a corner was cleared in the final minute as Barnet held on to win.
Karen said: "We are disappointed we didn’t get something from the game as I feel we played really well until the 70th minute. We are creating opportunities to score but just seem to be lacking confidence in the final third."
