Report

Tottenham Hotspur Ladies continued preparations for the new campaign with a friendly against the Trinidad and Tobago national team on Sunday.

Manager Karen Hills reported an 'ideal test' with a physical encounter won 3-0 by the team ranked 47 by FIFA at Spurs Lodge.

Kennie Garder opened the scoring for Trinidad and Tobago with a fine individual strike but Spurs competed well after that and were only undone further by a defensive mistakes and debatable penalty.

"It was a very heated and physical game - and that's just want I wanted," said Karen, whose team have now played four pre-season friendlies in preparation for the FA Women's Premier League South campaign, which starts with a trip to Chesham United on Sunday, September 1.

"I was impressed with the girls. They worked so hard throughout and I'm delighed with their fitness levels. That's what pre-season is all about."

Next up for Spurs Ladies is a friendly against Swindon Town at Frederick Knights Sports Ground (on Willoughby Lane, just around the corner from White Hart Lane).

If you are travelling to the Lane to watch the first team's friendly against Espanyol on Saturday, why not pop in and give the ladies your support?

The ladies kick-off at 1pm - the first team at 5.30pm.
