Karen Hills was delighted with how Spurs Ladies bounced back from last week's defeat against Coventry City with an impressive display against West Ham on Sunday.
Manager Karen felt the team played their best football of the season so far to secure a 1-1 draw against the Hammers in the FA Women's Premier League South.
It might have been more but Fran Gramble was denied point-blank by West Ham goalkeeper Toni-Anne Wayne, who kept Spurs at bay throughout.
After dominating the first half, Andra Marcoci finally grabbed a deserved breakthrough when a one-on-one chance was initially saved, but Andra was there to bury the rebound. Amy Cooper and Megan Wynne were particularly impressive as Spurs went in 1-0 up.
West Ham came back into the game in the second half and levelled when Lindsey Morgan glanced home a header from a corner.
The teams cancelled each other out in the final quarter of the game but there was one final chance as the ball fell to Fran Gamble after a scramble in the area only for Wayne to deny her from close range.
"We played some incredible football in the first half, our best of the season, but we ran out of steam in the second half," reflected Karen.
"It was an improved performance after what has been a tough couple of weeks for us and to play like that against one of the top teams is very encouraging.
"We'll now look to take that form into our next game against Brighton this Sunday."
The ladies take on the Seagulls at Ware FC, kick-off 2pm.
