Report

Tottenham Hotspur Women were beaten 3-0 at home to Manchester City in the Women's Super League on Saturday.

Kadija Shaw's brace either side of half-time gave the visitor's control, and Lauren Hemp made sure with a third goal late on.

Rehanne Skinner made two changes to the team that beat Liverpool last weekend, Rebecca Spencer replacing Tinja-Riikka Korpela in goal and Ellie Brazil coming in for Nikola Karczewska for her first Spurs start.

The game got off to a frustrating start for Spurs as Ellie Brazil, who was through on goal, suffered an injury and was replaced by Jessica Naz early on.

City showed signs of danger when Chloe Kelly's free-kick was headed just wide of the post by Esme Morgan, and Hemp's cross then flew just past Spencer's far post.

The Spurs keeper made a good save to deny Deyna Castellanos moments later, before a City corner came out to Laura Coombs, who shot high over the bar.

Molly Bartrip's free-kick almost created our first chance of the game just beyond the half-hour mark, but Amy Turner was flagged offside.

Yui Hasegawa had a shot from long range tipped past the post by Spencer, but the following corner was headed in by Shaw for 1-0.

Ashleigh Neville, making her 50th appearance in the WSL, struck wide from a Turner cross and Spurs went into the break behind by one.

Shortly after half-time, Shaw netted her second with a low strike into the bottom left corner from outside the box, and almost had a hat-trick but for the last ditch slide tackle of Bartrip.

Kelly had a shot blocked behind for a City corner but Spurs created another chance when Turner shot over the bar from distance.

Growing into the game, Neville delivered a nutmeg on the right wing and played the ball inside to Drew Spence, who curled just over the bar.

Castellanos' shot was caught comfortably by Spencer in the 76th minute, but there was nothing she could do to deny Hemp moments later, the winger picking out the bottom right corner accurately from the left of the 18-yard box.

Skinner brought Karczewska on for Celin Bizet in the dying embers of the game, while Chioma Ubogagu completed her return to the side as she replaced Neville.
