Mia Enderby struck twice in added time to give Liverpool a dramatic win over Tottenham for their first Women's Super League win of the season.
After going 12 games without success, the league's bottom club finally enjoyed some luck in their 13th.
Enderby met a Jenna Clark cross to finish in the six-yard box with three minutes of injury time played at the end of a hard-fought encounter.
There was still time for the substitute to drive home a low shot for a second goal in the 95th minute.
"Really satisfying," said Liverpool manager Gareth Taylor.
"It probably looked at some stages like we weren't going to get it. The girls willed the ball into the net today."
Victory moved Liverpool to seven points - within a point of second-bottom West Ham - while Tottenham are in fifth place.
After beating London Bees 6-0 in the FA Cup last weekend, Gareth Taylor's side kept up the momentum as they ended their worrying WSL wait for victory.
They started strongly with new signing Aurelie Csillag's attempt rebounding to Alice Bergstrom who hit the woodwork with a left-footed shot.
Tottenham's first attempt came just before half-time when Olivia Holdt fired wide, but they were frustrated by the home side's determined efforts.
Liverpool had their moments, with Cornelia Kapocs just failing to reach a Ceri Holland cross and visiting defender Clare Hunt making a decisive block to thwart another attempt.
But Spurs came close when Signe Gaupset burst through but was denied by Reds keeper Jennifer Falk, who rushed quickly off her line to block the Norway international's effort.
Maika Hamano was then too high with a right-footed shot as the game looked to be heading for a draw.
Spurs, who could have stayed above Manchester United in fourth place with victory, were then left stunned by Liverpool's late show.
Having been brought on in the 81st minute, Enderby made a superb contribution with her double.
"The second goal shows what we're about as a team, being on the front foot," added boss Taylor. "We created a lot of good chances and we looked more like what we wanted to be."
Liverpool's FA Cup win last weekend proved to be the catalyst for an impressive win over Champions League hopefuls Spurs.
Having scored six times at London Bees, Taylor's side showed greater confidence with debutants Bergstrom and Csillag offering energy and quality.
Swede Bergstrom hit the bar and went close with another attempt as she showed her threat from distance, while offering defensive support too.
Forward Csillag also made a nuisance of herself, with the Switzerland international having a couple of shots, eight touches in the Spurs box and creating three chances.
If the pair can build on this start, Liverpool will have greater hope of avoiding relegation, although a trip to Manchester United follows next on Sunday, 1 February.
Despite remaining bottom, this round of results leaves the Reds just two points off Leicester in ninth place, with Everton and West Ham just a point ahead in the table.
On the other side, a fourth league loss of the campaign is damaging for Spurs' hopes of achieving Champions League football next season.
Victory here would have moved them back level on points with third-placed Arsenal, but both the Gunners and Manchester United in fourth picked up vital victories.
Tottenham will have to regroup for next Sunday's visit to struggling West Ham with boss Martin Ho having no complaints about this result.
"We weren't at it," he said. "Liverpool were the better team and we didn't get up to speed at all."
