Report

Jermain Defoe's brace was not enough for Tottenham as they could only draw with Hull at the KC Stadium. The England international put Spurs ahead with a sweet shot from 20 yards.

Hull drew level on the hour when Ledley King brought down Jon Walters in the area and Stuart Green despatched the penalty past Paul Robinson.

Defoe beat three players with a mazy dribble before restoring the lead, but Stuart Elliott equalised when Spurs failed to clear an injury-time corner.

Former Tottenham midfielder Nick Barmby started the game for Hull against his old club.

He was joined in the Tigers line-up by another Spurs old boy, defender Alton Thelwell.
