Tottenham-bound Edgar Davids was in the stands to watch his future team-mates beat Reading with a goal each from strikers Mido and Jermain Defoe.
Egyptian international Mido opened the scoring on five minutes with a clinical finish from Wayne Routledge's pass.
In added time at the end of the first half, Defoe doubled Spurs' lead with a 25-yard volley which deflected off defender Ibrahima Sonko.
