Report

Tottenham came out on the wrong end of a 3-2 scoreline against Roma in their International Champions Cup match in Harrison, New Jersey on Tuesday night.

Vincent Janssen drew Spurs level at 2-2 in second-half stoppage time before Marco Tumminello answered for Roma with the winner seconds later.

Roma opened the scoring from the penalty spot after Cameron Carter-Vickers was whistled for handball and Diego Perotti stepped up and sent Michel Vorm the wrong way.

Spurs had a great chance to level at the 23-minute mark, but Harry Kane's redirection of a Kieran Trippier pass was blocked from harm's way.

Kane forced a save from new Roma goalkeeper Alisson in the 37th minute, firing a low shot from 20 yards that the Brazilian did well to turn away.

Dele Alli had a go just before the hour mark as Spurs came out on the front foot after half-time, but the England international's shot -- blazed from the top of the area -- only sent Alisson shuffling to his right before it sailed wide of the post.

Tottenham seemed certain to score, but Kane's frustrations continued when he saw another decent chance blocked away by the Roma defence after a darting run into the penalty area.

And Roma would find their second against the run of play in the 70th minute, when Cengiz Under smashed home from eight yards away after a poor clearance by Kevin Wimmer, who'd just entered the match for Spurs.

A goalmouth scramble helped Harry Winks halve the Roma lead, with Alisson and the post turning away two close-range attempts before the second-half substitute poked home to make it 2-1.

But stoppage-time fireworks from Janssen and Tumminello gave the fans at Red Bull Arena more to cheer about, with two fine finishes within a minute of another giving Roma the spoils in the friendly.
