It was a pre-season thriller at Cheshunt FC as Spurs trailed twice before taking the lead in the second half only to see the Gunners level with a minute left - and then Eartha Pond to fire the winner in added time! Bianca Baptiste converted from Riana Soobadoo's pass for 1-1 (21 minutes) and Katie O'Leary made it 2-2 just before the break after good work from Jenna Schillaci and Lucia Leon.
Kelley Blanchflower followed up after her effort struck the post for 3-2 (63), Arsenal levelled on 89 minutes but Pond's free-kick nestled home in added time for 4-3. "It was the ideal game in pre-season and the physical side of it was perfect for us," reported manager Karen Hills. "The tempo was good - Arsenal are always a test physically and we matched them from start to finish. "This was always going to be the biggest test for us in pre-season and we've come through with plenty of positives. There is still plenty of work to do in terms of tactics and strategy, but that will come. The priority for the time being is fitness and game time and things are looking good so far." WSL side Watford are next up for Spurs Ladies in a pre-season friendly on Sunday.
