Spurs Ladies certainly put down a marker on their way to four out of four in the FA Women's Premier League.
The league leaders blew Lewes away at the Dripping Pan, racing into 3-0 lead with only 10 minutes on the clock.
Bianca Baptiste led the way with a hat-trick as the team were 5-0 up at half-time and eventually 6-1 winners at the final whistle.
"I couldn't fault the players in any way," said Bianca. "We worked hard, battled and took the game to them. We played our game, kept the ball moving and took our chances."
Tottenham Hotspur Ladies’ unbeaten run continued with a performance that saw them sweep aside Lewes Ladies in clinical fashion.
As has often been the case this season, Karen Hills’ side came out flying and found a deserved opener through Kelley Blanchflower, who placed Bianca Baptiste’s fine cross inside the far-post after just four minutes.
Two minutes later Nikita Whinnett made it 2-0, bursting into the box prior to seeing her acrobatic half-volley rustle the net.
Whinnett was involved in the third, finding Baptiste who drilled her attempt across Lauren Dolbear from outside the area.
Against the run of play, the hosts almost found a breakthrough after Danielle Lane’s cross was met by Kim Stenning from six-yards, though Toni-Anne Wayne was on hand to deny her. Baptiste fired inches wide of the far-post from 20-yards and Alex Keown was needed to make a superb challenge on the edge of her own box to deny Lane finishing off a counter.
Eartha Pond’s free-kick came within inches of adding a fourth but she soon provided an assist as her well-taken corner was powered home by the towering Martin with two minutes left of the half.
The Lilywhites were five up on the stroke of half-time. Pond’s corner was headed clear only as far as Baptiste 25 yards from goal and the in-form forward swept her volley back into the bottom corner.
Into the secon half and Baptiste had two chances for a hat-trick in the space of a minute, first narrowly striking past the post, then heading over Jenna Schillaci’s cross. Rebecca Carter grabbed a goal back for Lewes on 64 minutes with a good turn of pace and finish across Megen Lynch, who replaced Wayne at the break.
There was no denying Baptiste though and her treble arrived as she collected Riana Soobadoo’s delightful pass and emphatically hit the back of the net from close range.
