Report

Spurs Ladies struck late to take another Women's Super League 1 scalp in the WSL's Continental Tyres Cup on Wednesday night.

As the first team toppled Real Madrid at Wembley, the ladies hit top form again to beat WSL 1 Yeovil at Huish Park.

That's five unbeaten in WSL 2 and the Continental Cup, where Spurs sit top of Group Two South after two wins out of two.

There are four groups of five in the Continental Cup with the top two teams progressing.

Brighton are next up for Karen Hills' team, another match in the Continental Tyres Cup at Cheshunt FC on Sunday (2pm).

Tottenham Hotspur Ladies came from behind to record a dramatic, late 2-1 victory over Yeovil Town at Huish Park.

Just four minutes in, Coral-Jade Haines hit a ferocious strike onto the crossbar and Sarah Wiltshire - returning to her former home - placed in the rebound, only for the goal to be ruled out for offside.

At the other end, Ella Pusey headed wide and Chloe Lloyd tried her luck from 25 yards while Bianca Baptiste was denied by Nicola Cousins.

Yeovil took the lead on 36 minutes. Gemma Evans’ free-kick was floated in for Mackenzie to head clear, only for Evans to return her cross towards goal which found its way into the far corner.

Sophie Mclean's powerful strike was blocked by Lawrence on the stroke of half-time.

Five minutes after the break, Evans’ cross was hooked clear by Neville but arrived to Ellie Curson who fired wide of the upright - Karen Hills’ side then took control.

The equaliser arrived on 63 minutes as Lucia Leon shimmied towards goal and slid in Wiltshire who majestically lobbed Howard.

Ronnell Humes chipped wide and Ryah Vyse fired inches over from the edge of the box a minute from time.

Spurs’ will-to-win came to passage when Humes latched onto possession and struck a wonderful lob over Howard from distance in stoppage time.
