Jamie Redknapp scored a fluke goal a minute from time to give Tottenham a last-gasp victory at Ewood Park.
The game had looked to be heading for a draw before the former England international miskicked in the area and sent the ball looping over Brad Friedel and into the net.
Tottenham had deservedly taken the lead after just six minutes when Robbie Keane scored his first goal for the club.
But Blackburn, who changed formation and personnel at the break, were far improved in the second half and equalised through Egil Ostenstad. Blackburn went into the game in good form, having beaten CSKA Sofia on aggregate in the Uefa Cup on Thursday and won their last two Premiership games.
Yet they looked sluggish following their midweek exploits and it was Tottenham, who had lost ther last two league games, who made the brighter start.
Keane gave them an early lead with a brilliant individual effort.
He stole the ball from Tugay in midfield and thrust forward, beating Brad Friedel with a low shot.
The visitors continued to be the better side and Milenko Acimovic went desperately close with a free-kick moments later.
Blackburn did put the ball into the net at the end of the half, but the goal was ruled out because Gary Flitcroft was offside.
Blackburn were vastly improved after the interval. Manager Graeme Souness brought on Ostenstad and Keith Gillespie and switched from a 4-4-2 to 3-4-1-1 formation and the changes reaped dividends.
They deservedly equalised when Ostenstad slotted home following good work from Tugay and David Dunn.
And the home side looked the more likely to snatch a victory before Redknapp struck at the death. Substitute Steffen Iversen ran at the defence and crossed. Redknapp miskicked inside the area and sliced the ball over Friedel and into the net.
