Robbie Keane was quick off the mark as we returned to winning ways against Kaizer Chiefs in South Africa on Tuesday night.
The Irish star opened the scoring in less than a minute as we toppled the Chiefs 2-0 at the Newlands Stadium in Cape Town.
Last season's top scorer was in the right place at the right time with just 30 seconds on the clock as Helder Postiga's effort flicked off his left heel and into the bottom right corner.
Whether he was right to claim it or not mattered little - Robbie was off on his celebration before the ball spun home.
In a much stronger, more controlled display than our defeat against Orlando Pirates in Durban on Saturday, Matthew Etherington bagged the second just before the break to all-but end the contest.
Chiefs were bright and breezy going forward but failed to cut through a solid defence marshalled particularly well again by Anthony Gardner and Goran Bunjevcevic.
Slick passing on a decent surface was the order of the day in the first half with Darren Anderton usually at the thick of things and Etherington joining in at will in his role as left wing-back.
Keane's fortuitous effort gave us the perfect start but Chiefs came back into it thanks the pace and no little skill of Jabu Pule, a tricky winger who had a purple spell of about seven minutes when he had a shot deflected wide, a cross across the six-yard that was begging to be touch home and a shot on the run that Rob Burch turned aside.
Burch dealt calmly with a couple of tricky balls but there seemed more snap about us and Postiga might have done better from Etherington's cross after 27 minutes.
The second goal arrived just before the break. Milenko Acimovic found Anderton who rolled the ball into Etherington, in acres of space, and he slotted home past the advancing Baloyi.
The second half was more of what you might call a good work-out as very little happened at either end.
A couple of Chiefs breaks instigated by crowd favourite Stanton Fredericks came to nothing while we were happy to retain possession.
