Match Report

Rodrigo Defendi made his debut as two quickfire goals in the second half saw Celtic home in Glasgow on Tuesday night.

Brazilian centre-back Defendi came on for the returning Dean Richards in the second half and did little wrong in his 45-minute shift.

We certainly had our moments in an entertaining friendly - not least in an even first half - before two goals in the space of eight minutes from Craig Beattie and Henri Camara put the home side in the driving seat.

As well as Defendi's debut, the likes of Jamie O'Hara, Mark Hughes and in-particularly Kieran McKenna, another second half substitute, will all benefit from this experience against the Scottish champions.

Celtic keeper David Marshall was called into action twice in the first half - the first, a fine tip aside as Edson Silva met OJ Mabizela's cross - before Kasey Keller was forced to twice deny Camara, the second at full length to turn away a 30-yarder just before the break.

Defendi replaced Dean Richards at the interval but despite always looking dangerous going forward, Celtic couldn't break us down.

The breakthrough arrived on the hour and a moment of magic from Beattie. He received the ball some 30 yards from goal, twisted and turned through two or three challenges before slotting the ball past Keller.

Mark Yeates struck the woodwork soon after but Celtic's second goal was just around the corner. Goran Bunjevcevic tried to roll the ball back to Keller from the left touchline but left it short and the lively Camara nipped in to score off the post.

29mins: CHANCE. Decent Celtic move, ball played right to Sylia, picked out Corridon who scuffed volley wide from 10 yards.

32mins: Camara inches away from Wallace cross.

33mins: Richards' header back to Keller slightly short, Camara nipped in but Keller there to block, ball came out to Beattie who chipped onto roof of net.

44mins: SAVE. Camara picked up ball 35 yards out, travelled a couple of yards before unleashing drive that Keller did well to turn aside.
