Report

Zoella Freeman's double helped Spurs Ladies to their first league win of the season.

The tone to the win was set early on when Mo Cordes was thwarted by the impressive home goalkeeper. Cordes then headed Samantha Farnum's cross just wide and Kelly Herrett went close with a free-kick.

The Farnum-Cordes combination ended with Cordes heading just wide after 36 minutes before the home keeper saved well from Freeman. Gill Blackmore (pictured) and Cordes went close before the break but it stayed goalless.

Spurs finally broke through in the first minute of the second hald when Freeman slotted hom after a defensive mix up.

Ten minutes later it was 2-0 as Farnum's pinpoint cross was dispatched.

Blackmore forced another save but it was soon 3-0 as Christinia Oshodi headed home Cordes' corner.

It could have been more but for the agility of the home keeper as Farnum, Cordes, Kim McGhee and Blackmore all went close. But ut ended 3-0 and a deserved win for Pete Skinner's side.

Spurs Ladies: Hills, Brigitte, Curtis, Djoshkoun, Herrett, Oshodi, Blackmore, Sparrow, Farnum, Freeman, Cordes. Subs: McGhee, Daniells.
